NATURAL RESOURCES PLANNING

The Five County Association of Governments frequently receives notice of various projects within or adjacent to the region which may have environmental or natural resource implications.  The FCAOG reviews and evaluates many of the proposals for the benefit of the constituent counties and interested parties. Examples of some of the reviews and evaluations made during the previous year by the FCAOG are shown below:

  • Washington County Water Conservancy District Virgin River Watershed Advisory Committee Participation
  • Central Colorado Plateau Sustainable Forestry Participation
  • Endangered Species Proposal Responses
  • Virgin River Land Preservation Participation
  • Three Rivers (Virgin River Parkway)Participation
  • Establishment of Natural Resource Advisory Council to work with U.S. Forest Service to update Dixie and Fishlake National Forest Plans and Office of Planning and Budget -Socio-Economic Study
  • Various USFS, BLM and NPS Project Comments
